Director of Science
The Abbey School
Salary STPC Leadership Pay Range L6 (£53,380)

The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Director of Science, to start from January 2025.
You will have excellent subject knowledge and be confident that students in your care will make exceptional progress. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a team which is forward-thinking and focused on doing the very best for every student.
We have an ambitious vision for our school driven by our excellent team to ensure our students experience as much Outstanding and Good practice as possible. In line with this, we are looking for a candidate who can regularly deliver lessons and suport to these standards.
This is a full time (32.5 hours per week), permanent role, paid on the SRPC Leadership Pay Range point L6 (FTE £53,380).

The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Lead Science Technician, to start from November 2024.
The successful candidate will have an attention to detail, will work to a high standard, and will seek to ensure a positive educational environment through their work. In return, The Howard Academy Trust offers a wide variety of benefits, details of which are outlined below.
We have an ambitious vision for our school driven by our excellent team to ensure our students experience as much Outstanding and Good practice as possible. In line with this, we are looking for a candidate who can regularly deliver support to these standards.
This is a full time (32.5 hours per week), permanent role, Term Time Only + 1 week, paid based on the Kent Scheme Pay Scale point KR5 (FTE £24,040- £25,002– actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis), and a recruitment incentive of £1k as outlined below.
The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £1k. This is split into the following payments - £500 subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £500 to be paid in November'25 as a retention incentive. This is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the school for at least that next year.
